Case in Point

I need a PA

THE ASK:

I run my own business and don’t have time to do everything.

THE TASK:

Creating Prezi presentations and putting together proposals/ other documents needed.

A monthly Mailchimp newsletter to my clients’ clients.

Help at home organising the work space and implementing systems to help my client work more effectively down to organising all her hundreds of business cards into alphabetical order (and therefore easier to locate).

Occasionally being on location with my client on days where she needs additional people to host various events.

THE RESULT:

‘I found Olivia through a mutual colleague on social media, where it struck me she was a lady who could get jobs done with the minimum of fuss – which is exactly what has happened.  Olivia responds quickly, sensitively and is not overwhelmed by ‘new’ tasks or challenges.   Olivia offers lots of services; for me she essentially acts as my PA, and in my first year of business has been of vital support.  I perhaps need some help with my wardrobe next!’

Run my Wedding

THE ASK:
“We’re having my wedding reception in a marquee at my parents’ home.  I’ve organised the day but there’s no one to make sure it all goes to plan.
We’re all going to be at the church and want someone to be back at base coordinating proceedings in our absence and most importantly to provide some support to my mum in looking after her home.”
THE TASK:
Trouble-shooting a port-a-loo issue from the get-go.
Helping bridesmaids decide on final outfit accessories.
Liaising with caterers and bands on timings, positioning and finalising financial arrangements.  Making sure anyone contracted in for the day got to eat.
Come the evening, inside the house with an ear to all the babies sleeping whilst the parents were outside in the marquee dancing the night away!
THE RESULT:
I wasn’t even looking for The Butler but came across her on Twitter @TheButlerYorks, followed and then googled in order to try to make contact as thought it may be a service I could use on my wedding day.
Olivia did an amazing job, contacting suppliers when things went wrong and I no longer had access to my own phone.  A portaloo crisis was averted and the water works fully functioning by the time we got back from the church!  She discretely took care of things which would otherwise have been difficult in a big wedding dress on my special day!
We trusted The Butler implicitly with cheques and cash for payments to suppliers required on the day.  Whilst Olivia may not be a “wedding coordinator” this role can definitely be added to her list of capabilities.  I can highly recommend Olivia’s services.

Sort out my home

THE ASK:

I just need some help at home – I have so many things to do – I don’t know where to start.

THE TASK:

After losing weight, my client primarily needed a wardrobe cull.  Item by item, we decided which could be altered to make fit again, which could be sold, and which needed to hit the charity shop.

Following on from this, room by room got the de-clutter treatment followed by a repainting and makeover of the office space.

THE RESULT:

It is always a joy for me to have The Butler around, helping in my home with a variety of things.  Olivia came to me, highly recommended by a friend, I needed some help with de -cluttering and I had been so impressed with her work that I asked her for help in many other areas of running a home and office.  She is an efficient and enthusiastic person, after every visit, she has left my house more beautifully organised; furthermore, she has helped me identify my own style.  She is perfect at helping with all aspects of wardrobe maintenance – she did a wonderful job of transforming a coat by simply replacing the buttons,  and having it dry cleaned.  She is completely trustworthy and is a rare person – one that is both patient and confidential.

Define my Wardrobe

THE ASK:

I need to refresh my wardrobe for work.  I need to look professional yet I just stick to the same ‘safe’ outfits I already have

THE TASK:

This client I had always worked remotely for, however when the above ask came it was a ticket to Plymouth.

Arrive at clients house and have a look through current wardrobe.  Discuss her like and dislikes about her current work look.  Discover what she’d like to feel about her work wear post-shopping.

Day 2 – Four to five hours personal shopping before the return train home.

THE RESULT:

Olivia’s great to work with – she has strong research skills and is a really easy person to get along with making ongoing requests straightforward.  Hiring Olivia was one of the best moves I’ve made in ages. It’s been a great way to have huge fun and I’ve been able to trust her 100%. She takes time to find out what I need and delivers every time!!
